Almost of you have seen some posts about trip course of Jeon ju in SNS. Eating food and staying at the village of traditional Korean-style houses there is one of the examples of geotourism. The possible effects of geotourism in Jeon ju include growth of local economy and harm to its own characteristics.
A positive effect of geotourism in Jeon ju is expansion of tourism market. In fact, there are not only a plenty of traditional but fusion dishes in Jeon ju and a number of tourists enjoy eating them. Moreover, increasing Korean traditional costume, Han bok rental shops offer tourists to interesting experiences of Korean culture.
On the other hand, a negative effect of geotourism in Jeon ju is loss of unique characteristics of it. For example, there are so many fusion dishes to attracts tourists that it tends to lose real Korean traditional tastes. Also, it has changed structures of Korean traditonal villages to make tourists comfortable to pass through.
In conclusion, geotourism of Jeon ju provides tourists with wonderful memories and leads to economical growth to local people. However, local people should try to keep unique traditon and food of their region.
I want to go Jeon ju! I hope to eat some fusion dishes:)

삭제have never been to Jeon-ju. I've heard Jeon-ju is famous for tasty food! However, I didn't know that there is expansion of tourism market. I wish I had been there!
답글삭제I went to Jeonju few weeks ago, and I couldn't think about the negative effects because I was so fascinated at the view and foods. After reading your post, it made me think more deeply about geotourism's advantages and disadvantages. Also, I agree with that Han bok rental shops are good for advertising our traditional culture not only to foreigners but also to Koreans!
